Maximising Appointments

If you are making an appointment for a medical, excision, counselling or wish to discuss more than 1 issue, please tell your receptionist you need a longer appointment.

Getting the Most from your Appointment

Our standard appointment time is 15 minutes. Extra time is required for medicals, counselling, excisions or multiple problems etc. Please advise Reception when making an appointment if extra time may be needed, please also note a nurse may be required for some services, please let reception know as this needs to be booked in conjunction with your GP appointment. In this way we are better able to reduce waiting times. Reception staff may also need to ask you questions to ensure your medical needs are being met in a timely manner. This is part of our triage process and is not meant to be intrusive. If reception staff require further clinical assistance we will transfer you through to the duty nurse.

Which Doctor will you see?

7Springs Medical Practice will make every effort to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice, however, this may not always be possible. In these cases, our staff will endeavour to give you an appointment with another doctor at the Practice.

There are a number of GP Registrars at 7Springs Medical Practice. If we cannot give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice, there is a strong chance a GP Registrar will have availability to see you. GP Registrars are fully qualified Doctors that have completed their Medical Post Graduate degree and at least one year of hospital rotations. They are now completing training in general practice at 7Springs and will stay for 1 to 2 years.

Verifying your Details

At each visit we will check your personal details, this is to ensure the accuracy of your patient information e.g. your name, address, date of birth and best contact number. You may be a long standing patient of the doctor but it is our legal responsibility.

The quality of health records kept by 7Springs is critical – how complete they are, their accuracy and legibility. 7Springs therefore need to take care that records correctly reflect patient details, including demographic information. It is best practice to regularly check that patient contact details are up to date – for example making it routine to confirm patient details each time they attend the practice.

At 7Springs Medical Practice, our best practice approach to ensuring all of this information is recorded accurately in the patient health record is to check patient details at time of check in, every time we arrive a patient.
